GORE - Age of Conan Guild

An overdue update!

Salute!

As many of you may know, over the last week the site has undergone a massive overhaul. This overhaul is far from complete; the site still lacks the content we plan to have. The content will come later once our code and feature list is complete. I hope to cover in this post how exactly we intend to make our site enhance the enjoyment of being a GORE member and being a member of the Age of Conan community.

It has been our vision to make GORE a community where members can enjoy the world of Hyboria to its full potential. A guild is meant to enhance the experience of playing an MMO and we plan to magnify that experience by offering in-depth guild event, rewards, achievement system and a host of other exciting features.

Over the next month the following features will become available though the site to guild members, some content will be open to the public, however intelligence that could be used against us will be kept locked away.

New 75 slot ventrilo server housed in a state of the art data center with massive international connectivity for our members. The server will be password protected and the password will be made available to GORE members and trusted members within our alliance.
Ventrilo module on our website will be updated to fit the look and feel of the site more, and all external company branding removed.
Advanced custom coded roster that will allow members to see the characters each person owns and who each members main character is. The roster will also will include an in-depth profile for each user to edit and control.
Rewards and Medals will also tie into the roster system and the forum signature for all GORE members. As members achieve certain requirements within the guild for various tasks, events and interactions members will be awarded medals. Some medals will only be held by a single member at any one time, some will be issued only once for attending a special event. Other medals will be given out through more generalized events from PVP to PVE and crafting. The planed reward list is massive!
The about us area of our website will be created in the coming week which will cover how we came to be GORE and how we plan to develop as a guild over the life of the game.
Code of Conduct has been disused within the council for many weeks now, about what is truly acceptable within our guild. From those discussions we will be generating a concise code of conduct on how we expect members of GORE to interact with one another and the rest of the Age of Conan community.
Media will be stored in an image gallery and a flash based video gallery that will allow GORE members to post high quality video footage and screenshots as they please.
Once the GORE artwork is finalized the site will give only GORE members the ability to purchase GORE gear, i.e. Shirts, Boxers, G-Strings (not sure if the logo will fit) and mouse mats and other items. No profit will be made by the guild or anyone within the guild, the gear will be sold at cost to all members.
The current events calendar is not what we hoped it would be so it will be redone. The new system will look more the style of the site and will also allow for more features. One of the features is the ability to reserve positions for events such as siege battles and raids that will be hosting on a daily and weekly basis in the coming months.
To create an account on the website you must be approved by and officer once your account has been placed in the creation que. This system allows us to keep control of who has access to our registered content to keep unwanted spammers off our forums.

All the above is only the very beginning of what is in store for GORE. Once all of the above is finished being implemented into the site over the next few weeks we will continue to push forward with new ways to improve the guild experience, i.e. inter guild ladder tournaments, lucky draws, bounty hunting system and more.

On a final note, I would like to take the time to point out communication is key within the world of Hyboria. We live and die based on who we communicate with each other. This is why in GORE we strongly encourage all our members to use ventrilo, even if it’s only just to listen to what is going on within the game. We have a host of different channels intended for different types of game play and discussion topics. So no matter who you are, you will find a place on our ventirlo server to call home.

We need to get every one on ventrillo so we can more easily defend our keep when it gets attacked and we need to start
finding each other to do missions with. We would lvl faster and would be ganked less.
If every one is on vent you could just holler when you need help there is no reason that simmular lvl characters couldnt get together.

Update Notes 23rd of May

Tarib the Senior Community Manager posted the Update Notes for the 23rd of May a little while ago, and here they are:

Playfields
* Characters should no longer get stuck when they zone into Lacheish Plains.

Items
* Nalla now has a more solid supply of items to sell.
* Potent Bittersharp potion now again heals hitpoints instead of stamina

Mobs
* King Atzel have gotten a revamp. Buff spells have been redone he uses combos.
* The patrols in Atzel''s Fortress now respawn faster

Quests
* Destiny Quest 80 Cimmeria: The Grim Grey God - The Soul Chamber - Charm of Protection now works again inside Onyx Chambers.
* Invading the Supply Camp: It is now possible to trick Supply Master Vorgir to come out of his tent by destroying his ale cask.
* Xan''s Bounty: A message in the bottle will now send you on a journey to kill an ape queen on a distant island near White Sands.

Crafting
* Recipes should no longer disappear when you get advanced skills.
* Armorsmith crafting Tier 2 now shows second page of recipes.
* The price Tamder mentions when players get gemcutting quests is now correct.
* Resources gathered now end up in the correct inventory again if more than one player is gathering the same resource.

Spellweaving
* Spellweaving has been temporarily disabled for Tempest of Set due to a recent bug.

Cracking level 20!

The end of the first day of pre-release has arrived and we have had an awesome time in the world of Conan, which has lived up to our dreams.

The highest player we have seen on the server is 37, which is an impressive sight. However our members are not far behind. We have a number of our guys that have already passed the level 20 barrier a few hours after launch.

As of writing this Deathwsiper is down for maintenance and many of us prepare to hand in our final quests to break the level 20 barrier when the server resumes.

Now that we have members over 20 we must focus on recruitment of new members into our ranks.

"As we added a new PvP Ruleset (Culture PvP) we had to tweak the different numbers of servers and also names a little bit. So the new list now is as follows:

"As part of celebrating the release of Age of Conan we are happy to unravel a brand new PvP ruleset that has not previously been disclosed: The Culture PvP ruleset! Note that this new PvP server type is experimental and players on these servers must expect an ongoing change to the ruleset.

The goal of this PvP server-type is to stimulate war behind the three cultures of Cimmeria, Aquilonia and Stygia. As a player on a Culture PvP server, you are shielded from lone travelers of your own culture, however you may still group with any culture and form a group and attack anyone.

The Culture PvP ruleset is an evolving ruleset that will be tweaked and polished based on player-feedback in the months to come. Although it is, at least currently, possible to make guilds across cultures, pure culture groups and guilds will be endorsed on this server, and as such players on the Culture PvP servers must prepare that the future will hold continued changes to the ruleset.

We have changed to ruleset on two servers that were previously flagged as full PvP. The homes for the Culture PvP servers are:
